One year ago, Congress eliminated federal funding for public media, and as of July 1, those devastating cuts have officially taken effect. Due to the Rescission Act of 2025, Mississippi Public Broadcasting has lost $2.5 million in federal funding.
Federal funding is now GONE for public media. But while we’ve been defunded, we are absolutely not defeated.
